Introductions, introductions

Hi. This will be awkward.

This is Scott. Or more precisely, this is my non-destructive, semi-informative, 100-percent-future-employer-safe method of fleeing life as a graduate student. I write some, and take photos some. In a past life i was intensely involved in the politics of anti-imperialism and social justice, which is something that just can't be unlearned. Otherwise my life is kind of regular.

Some background: Graduated Beloit College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing; am now working on a Master of Science in Geology at the University of Cincinnati. Currently, my research is focused on the effect of altitudinal climatic gradients on erosion rates across the Ladakh Himalaya. For all the hours spent in the lab and grading papers, geology lets you do some sweet things and see some amazing places, a few of which will show up here.

The title is yanked from This Will Destroy You's killer EP, and seems to fit. So hope you like it, and drop a comment sometime.

You've left the impression that you graduated college the same year you started it. Your first post, and you're already embellishing the truth. If you're looking to avoid career-ending mistakes, this sort of blatant deception will not help!

why thank you, caroline. i think i will enjoy this new smoke-filled, dance-averse environment.

jeremy, i figure as long as i stay consistent, i can certainly fool the computer-illiterate university geezers tasked to track my filthy past.

hello, computer-illiterate university geezers.
