Jen's host family's cat just had a mess (litter?) of kittens. Her family named this one, who Jen swears is the cutest, Escot.
That is, Scott.
For some reason Chileans have difficulty with my name. Something about the "sc" sound in Chilean Spanish impels speakers to add an aspiration before the sound. Therefore, Scott becomes Escot, which is also the name of her host sister's Tamagocchi.

It's not just Chilean Spanish, it's all Spanish. Any word that begins with an S, especially if that s is followed by another consonant, earns itself that magical e in front.
esprite, espain, espanish, espring, espam, espy, escot(t).
they also don't repeat the same letter twice in a row in their language.
that cat sure is cute.
Ah, this makes much sense. espaƱa, estadio, etc.
Sure is. I'm honored, in a way.
